What you are getting
EvalLayer checks an action your agent intends to take against a policy you supply, and returns a decision with a durable record. Access is granted at the tier you register for or purchase.
The most important term
Our decisions are best-effort policy checks, not a guarantee. EvalLayer does not insure, warrant, or assume responsibility for your agents' behavior. We may miss a violation, or flag something that was actually fine. You remain responsible for what your systems send, execute, or publish, including when you configure EvalLayer to gate those actions automatically. The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and our aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Who owns what
You own your content, your policies, and your decision records; we claim no rights in them beyond what is needed to run the service for you. We own the platform, the evaluation and authorization methods, and any generalized improvements we make to them. We may publish anonymized, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you, your customers, or your content. Anything naming you requires your written permission.
Your account
Your API key is a bearer credential: anyone holding it can act as your agent. Keep it in a secret manager, never email it to anyone including us, and tell us immediately at support@evallayer.ai if it is exposed so we can revoke it. Keys are shown once and stored only as hashes, so we cannot recover a lost key; we can issue a new one. You are responsible for activity under your key.
Acceptable use
Do not use EvalLayer to:
- Submit content you have no right to submit, or personal data you have no lawful basis to process.
- Manufacture a compliance record for a decision you did not actually route through the service, or otherwise misrepresent what our records show.
- Attack the service: probing other accounts' data, circumventing rate limits or quotas, or overwhelming the API.
- Break the law with it, or use it to facilitate fraud or harassment.
We may suspend accounts that do these things, and we will tell you why.
Payment, changes, and ending
Paid tiers bill monthly in advance and are not refundable for partial months; you can cancel any time and keep access through the paid period. We may change prices or these terms with notice to active accounts, and material changes take effect at your next renewal. You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your data.
Security reports and contact
Report vulnerabilities to support@evallayer.ai. We respond to good-faith reports, will not pursue researchers who act in good faith and avoid privacy violations and service degradation, and will credit you if you want. For anything else, including a DPA request, the same address reaches a human. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA.
